Job Description
Position Title: Memory Care Neighborhood Support
The Memory Care Neighborhood Support plays an essential role in maintaining the comfort cleanliness and dining experience of the Memory Care neighborhood. This position supports the care team by assisting with meal service light housekeeping and resident engagementwithout performing direct or hands-on resident care. The goal is to ensure the neighborhood runs smoothly feels welcoming and provides residents with an engaging home-like environment.
Prepare the dining room before each meal including setting tables plating meals and preparing beverages soups oatmeal and desserts.
Ensure all dietary items and condiments are available and presented neatly.
Provide cueing and gentle reminders to residents to eat and drink during meals.
Assist residents with opening packages cutting food or positioning plates as needed.
Clean dining areas and kitchenettes after meals including wiping tables and chairs sweeping and mopping floors.
Return dishes utensils and supplies to the proper areas.
Environmental Support:
Maintain a clean organized and inviting neighborhood environment.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as bed-making (no resident lifting) emptying trash tidying common areas and restocking supplies.
Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department.
Resident Engagement & Supervision:
Monitor residents in common areas and provide reassurance or redirection when needed.
Engage residents in conversation or simple activities while caregivers and Med Techs are attending to other needs.
Support activity programs by assisting with setup cleanup and encouraging participation.
Observe residents for changes in behavior or mood and promptly report concerns to care staff.
Safety & Communication:
Answer the double doors to greet and assist visitors families and vendors following community protocols.
Ensure resident safety by maintaining awareness of exits and preventing unsafe wandering when appropriate.
Communicate effectively with Health And Wellness Director Resident Care Coordinator Med techs and Caregivers and dining or housekeeping teams to coordinate daily routines smoothly.
Follow all community policies procedures and infection control standards.
Compassionate patient and enjoys working with seniors living with dementia.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Organized dependable and able to follow structured routines.
Experience in dining services hospitality or senior living preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and supportive presence.
*Must able to obtain Caregiver Certificate after 30 days of Employment*
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Light lifting (up to 25 lbs) and bending as needed for cleaning or meal service.
Comfortable working around food service and cleaning products.
