OVERVIEW
We are seeking an System Safety Engineer onsite in El Segundo CA will join the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering team to help define the next generation of space communication systems supporting Air Force Military Satellite Communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members contractors government civilians and members of the USAF. You may lead and support working groups responsible for leading technical discussion resolving and identifying risks and requirements gaps developing briefings writing and tracking action items and authoring meeting minutes.
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering Integration and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Forces Space and Missiles System Center. We support the Air Forces acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems providing global secure survivable and protected communications for our nations warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams using themost modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex
space and ground communications systems.
The System Safety Engineer will:
Support the MSEIT System Safety Government Team by evaluating ESOH risks identified by thegovernment contractors or other stakeholders preparing ESOH documents and providing system safetysupport for Space Flight Worthiness certification
Document perform and execute changes to Government System Safety documents
Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses mitigationstrategies and safety assessments as well as advise the government team
Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance documentsand prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation.
Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental Safety and OccupationalHealth Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for spacevehicles
Prepare and support the System Safety elements of the space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification
Collaborating with prime contractors other support contractors government civilians and membersof the U.S. Space Force

4 years experience in systems engineering
1 years experience in Systems Safety engineering to include System Safety Engineering practices techniques and procedures and working with System Safety military standards and regulations
Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers
Strong interpersonal skills to enable working and interfacing with diverse personnel and working in a dynamic team environment
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint)
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required for the position
Preferred
Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP CSEP)
Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence
Experience with MILSATCOM such as AEHF EPS WGS and FABT terminal programs
Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients
Experience and familiarity experience working on a government space systems program
Experience working on a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract
Active Secret Clearance or higher
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree
Preferred
BS in technical field such as engineering mathematics physics or computer science.
MS degree
The salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $120000.00 to $145000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Juno Healths total compensation package for employees.
