About the Role

Were looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our dynamic Health Information Services team based at East Melbourne. Reporting to the Victorian HIS Operations Manager youll be responsible for the timely and accurate abstraction and coding of clinical data from patient records using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classifications.

Your Impact

In this role you will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely coding of separations using ICD-10-AM ACHI and Australian Coding Standards.

  • Liaise with clinicians and other staff to gather additional documentation required for coding accuracy.

  • Manage and prioritise workload to meet key performance targets.

  • Actively contribute to ongoing education audits and quality improvement initiatives.

About You

Youre an organised analytical professional who thrives on accuracy and clinical detail. Youll bring:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or Certificate IV/Diploma in Clinical Classification

  • Minimum 2 years experience coding in an acute healthcare setting with varied casemix

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Coding Standards

  • Experience with private sector funding models (desirable)

  • Proficiency with coding software such as 3M Codefinder or WebPAS (desirable)

  • Excellent communication collaboration and time management skills

  • Commitment to confidentiality data integrity and continuous learning
