Disease Area Partner / Medical Strategy Lead (Oncology/Gynecology)

(US Remote)

The Opportunity:

The Disease Area Partner is a key strategic role within the Medical & Scientific Affairs (MSA) organization responsible for the development and execution of the clinically-focused Medical Affairs strategy for an assigned individual will be instrumental in defining the comprehensive clinical strategy working in close collaboration with other key scientific leads.

They will be responsible for driving activities across three core pillars:

  • Education: This involves developing and delivering robust educational programs for both internal and external stakeholders including patients clinicians and laboratory professionals.

  • Evidence Generation: The role will oversee the generation of clinical evidence to support the value and efficacy of our diagnostic solutions. This includes designing and managing studies collaborating on research initiatives and contributing to publications.

  • External Engagement: This encompasses building and maintaining strong relationships with key external clinical experts professional associations pharmaceutical companies and the broader scientific community to foster collaboration gather insights and advance the field of biomarker testing.

The Disease Area Partners work requires extensive collaboration with a wide array of internal stakeholders across various departments. This includes but is not limited to Medical & Scientific Affairs Marketing Sales Training & Development Market Access and Communications. This cross-functional partnership is crucial for ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to our medical affairs initiatives.

Furthermore the role necessitates strong partnerships with critical external stakeholders. This includes national clinical experts oncologists and relevant professional and patient associations all with the aim of advancing biomarker testing. The role will also involve strategic collaborations with pharmaceutical companies to support the adoption of companion diagnostics and other precision medicine initiatives.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Education

  • Define and deliver multi-channel external education strategy for healthcare professionals

  • Support the development and delivery of training programs for internal stakeholders (e.g. sales marketing medical) and external pharmaceutical partner employees on the clinical utility of assigned portfolio

  • Serve as clinical expert for commercial teams to review and support marketing programs materials and product launches

Evidence Generation

  • Define and execute US medical affairs evidence generation plan including clinical studies to further validate clinical utility and patient impact of our diagnostic tests

  • Provide US expert clinical opinion and feedback to global R&D and medical affairs teams to ensure appropriate design of global studies

  • Contribute to the preparation and review of abstracts posters manuscripts and other scientific publications

External Engagement

  • Partner on the execution of pharmaceutical partnerships for companion diagnostic launches and integration into US practice

  • Build and nurture strong scientific relationships with national clinical experts and professional and patient associations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Doctorate Level Degree 3 years of relevant work experience OR

Masters Level Degree in Science 5 years previously relevant related experience OR

Bachelors Level Degree in Science 7 years relevant work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Healthcare professional designation preferred

  • Previous Pharmaceutical Industry experience of 2 years strongly preferred

  • Previous industry experience or clinical practice in Oncology (and/or gynecology)of at least 2 years is strongly preferred

  • Previous Medical Affairs Strategy experience of at least 2 years an asset

  • Previous other Medical Affairs experience (field study management operations) an asset

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse laboratory and healthcare professionals.

  • Skilled in understanding interpreting and presenting scientific and medical topics.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a matrixed organization.

  • Business acumen and strategic prioritization/decision-making.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous rapidly changing environments.

This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis IN is $131100 - $243500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications geographic location and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
