What to expect
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Access and using independent judgment and skills that greatly impact the success of the programs oversees all intake and referrals to all inpatient units on all Sheppard Pratt campuses. Monitors and reports trends and issues that impact admissions and patient days. Builds and maintains effective relationships with area acute care hospitals to facilitate admissions and transfers. Manages department budget.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Actively seeks to provide quality services that meet the needs of patients as well as other customers--families referrers visitors staff and payers.
- Responsible for the overall organization management and functioning of Access Services on a seven-day per week basis either in person or by telephone.
- Coordinates staffing schedule to provide effective and responsive coverage.
- Supervises the processes of patient intake for hospital inpatient units the determination of admission placement and/or appropriate referral if admission to Sheppard Pratt service is not feasible or appropriate

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to years and level of related experience.
What we need from you
- Must meet one of the following education/licensure criteria:
- Completion of appropriate Masters degree in Counseling Human Services or related field; LGPC required LCPC licensure preferred
- Completion of Masters degree in Social Work; LMSW required LCSW-C license preferred
- Completion of a Bachelors degree in Nursing and RN license.
- Three to five years of postgraduate clinical experience that includes: knowledge of mental health and addictions problems and treatment sufficient to oversee effective clinical intake and assessment; community/referrer relations skills: and experience with electronic bed board and patient management systems.
