Job Summary
A thriving successful Outstanding Ofsted-rated school in York is looking for a thoughtful Humanities Teacher with a focus on Religious Studies for a January 2026 start. This is an ideal role for an experienced teacher to contribute to a strong supportive Humanities department.

Responsibilities
- The Humanities Teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous practical and theoretical tuition in Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 4 (GCSE) and 5 (A-Level).
- The teacher is responsible for driving high attainment and encouraging sophisticated ethical reasoning philosophical debate and critical textual analysis.
- They must actively contribute to the schools wider academic events programme and departmental planning.
- The Humanities Teacher is expected to contribute to consistent high academic outcomes and help secure successful university applications for students.
Requirements
- Holds or is soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has the right to work in the UK.
- Holds a Degree or has experience teaching Religious Studies.
