We empower refugee entrepreneurs by providing business support mentoring and tailored business loans to help them start and grow sustainable businesses.

The Opportunity

Join Thrives mission to support refugee entrepreneurs across Australia. As a Client Relationship Manager youll be the vital link between our clients and the resources mentoring and finance they need to succeed. Youll work closely with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds guiding them from concept through to successful business launch.

This role is ideal for someone who is both mission-driven and commercially astute someone who can build trust with clients while providing hands-on business and financial guidance.

What Youll Do

In this role you will:

Build strong trust-based relationships with refugee and asylum seeker entrepreneurs.

Deliver one-on-one mentoring and/or group workshops to build business readiness.

Support clients to develop business plans budgets cash flow forecasts and marketing strategies.

Guide clients through business registration compliance and launch.

Assess financing needs prepare high-quality loan applications and liaise with Thrives credit team.

Conduct scheduled business reviews and provide tailored support to address challenges.

Collaborate with community organisations settlement agencies and industry partners to strengthen referral pathways.

Represent Thrive at events and sector forums to grow our community partnerships.

Clients progress from idea to business launch and growth.

High client satisfaction and retention.

Strong loan approval rates through well-prepared submissions.

Growing partnerships and referrals within the refugee support ecosystem.

Demonstrable contribution to Thrives social impact goals.

About You

You are motivated by purpose and driven to make a difference. You bring:

Strong communication and mentoring skills with cultural sensitivity and empathy.

Commercial acumen and the ability to analyse business and financial plans.

Energetic takes initiative and resilience in challenging situations.

A collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

Tertiary qualification in business commerce finance or equivalent experience (preferred but not essential).

Experience with small or micro-businesses preferred (as an owner employee supplier or lender).

Background in case management client services or financial services is beneficial.

Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities highly regarded.

Full working rights in Australia.

Other Requirements

Current drivers license access to transport and willing to travel within Sydney.

Multilingual skills may be an advantage.
