Job Summary
Were looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our finance team in Ystrad Mynach.
Reporting to the Management Accountant this is a well-rounded training role that offers exposure to all areas of finance. Youll gain hands-on experience in monthly reporting reconciliations VAT returns audit preparation and budgetingmaking it an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills and build a strong foundation for your finance career in a fast-paced supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate revenue data.
- Conduct profit & loss analysis and compile monthly financial reports.
- Maintain fixed asset register and load trade agreement documents into system.
- Perform foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany netting.
- Prepare VAT returns and monitor daily bank statements for reconciliation.
- Support Management Accounting with inventory reserve calculations.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely invoicing.
- Assist with internal and external audits providing necessary documentation.
- Contribute to budget planning and forecasting processes.
- Handle ad-hoc finance tasks and provide cross-functional support as needed.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in accounts or finance roles is essential.
- AAT Qualified (Or currently studying) or equivalent finance qualification.
- Communication skills especially when speaking with customers.
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience of working with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities within the department.
