MISSION
This Operations Manager role exists to lead a high-performing team in a 24/5 coil processing facility serving as second-in-command to the General Manager. As Ryersons Carrollton site evolves into a regional hub this leader will ensure safety efficiency and people development remain front and center while scaling throughput across upgraded capital equipment and expanded distribution reach.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Safety Leadership Sustain and build upon a historically strong safety record; engage frontline teams in proactive safety culture and SOP adherence.
People Development Coach and stabilize a team of 40 employees across three shifts; transition temp labor to full-time; improve retention and morale through day-to-day leadership and clarity of purpose.
Production Execution Ensure on-time cost-effective coil slitting and cut-to-length operations across upgraded lines; optimize first and second shift throughput.
Fulfillment & Logistics Oversee order fulfillment and third-shift shipping; coordinate truckload scheduling for 8 flatbeds delivering across Texas and regional hubs.
Process Improvement Lead continuous improvement in productivity lean practices and flow; drive ROI on recent $10M investment in equipment and facility upgrades.
Succession Planning Transition knowledge from retiring 39-year veteran Ops Manager; build continuity and elevate emerging leaders within the operation.

Requirements
Required
Must have served in the U.S. Army U.S. Navy U.S. Marine Corps U.S. Air Force U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Space Force U.S. Reserves or U.S. National Guard.5 years of experience in operations production or logistics leadership.
Familiarity with shift-based manufacturing environments (preferably 24/5).
Demonstrated success leading hourly teams supervisors and schedulers.
Experience managing throughput order fulfillment and facility operations.
Working knowledge of lean safety programs and continuous improvement.
Preferred / Military Equivalents
Former Platoon Sergeant First Sergeant or Operations NCO (Army Marines Air Force Navy).
Background in supply logistics maintenance or production planning.
Experience transitioning teams from temp labor to full-time.
Experience with capital equipment process layout or facility upgrades a plus.
