Primary Purpose
The Special Education Administrator Coach at ESC Region 11 connects the requirements of a
campus or central administrator to the legal requirements provided by the USDE and TEA. The LEA and the coach will review the facets of the Special Education Program that need
to engage in continuous improvement and/or become in compliance to best support students at a systems level and on a daily basis.

Education/Certification
- Masters degree required.
- Texas Administrative certification is preferred.
- Special Education certification preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Sound demonstrated understanding of TEKS-based instruction.
- Coaching teachers/administrators.
- Knowledge of sound classroom management.
- Pedagogy and Lesson Design.
- Knowledge of diverse learners.
- Special education programming support and accountability.
- Facilitate walkthrough calibration.
- Demonstrated success in campus turnaround.
- Ability to create and implement instructional improvement plans.
- Leading successful technology and integration initiatives.
- Knowledge of Texas Instructional Leadership.
- Knowledge of the Effective Schools Framework.
- Knowledge of the formative assessment process.
Experience
- 3 years of teaching experience required.
- 3 years of successful Assistant Principal/Principal/Central Office with supervisory experience preferred.
- Leadership coaching experience preferred.

- Depth of knowledge in leadership coaching strategic planning at the systems level and leading others through influence.
- Ability to design professional learning and support campus/district administrators through capacity-building efforts.
- Coach and support district and campus leaders in developing an improvement plan aligned to rigorous goals and develop systems and structures to support the implementation of district and campus plans.
- Effectively communicate with designated campus and district leaders including senior-level leaders to identify appropriate TIL levers to support improvement efforts aligned to TIL and Effective Schools Framework/Targeted Improvement Plan priorities.
- Collaborates across networks departments and the globe.
- Emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Models the use of high-impact instructional strategies.
- Demonstrates effective lesson planning and delivery techniques.
- Creates distributes and tracks learning using a learning management system.
- Embeds literacy-rich (speaking reading writing) practices in all learning experiences.
- Incorporates the use of formative and summative assessments.
- Utilizes transformative technology to enhance mastery of the goal.
- Models high expectations and effective classroom management.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to adult learning needs.
- Utilizes multiple metrics to evaluate the impact of services.
- Demonstrates knowledge of evolving state and legal requirements and how these requirements impact districts.

Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.
Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
