About the role

Were looking for a skilled and creative Communications Coordinator to enhance Somervilles visibility and reputation across the Northern Territory.

This role leads the development of clear engaging and consistent communications across digital print and media channels. Youll bring ideas to life through storytelling visual design and campaigns that reflect Somervilles values and celebrate the work we do in the community. Youll also play an active role in promoting key events fundraising initiatives and organisational achievements - helping to connect people to Somervilles mission in meaningful ways.

What youll be doing

In this role youll:

  • Plan and deliver communication strategies and campaigns that strengthen Somervilles brand and profile
  • Create and coordinate publications and promotional materials including newsletters annual reports and media content
  • Manage Somervilles website and social media platforms producing engaging and timely content
  • Write and edit a wide range of materials including media releases speeches and stories that highlight Somervilles people and impact
  • Support the delivery and promotion of events fundraising and community engagement activities
  • Build strong relationships with media community organisations and partners
  • Monitor and analyse communication performance to inform improvements

What youll bring

Youll bring focus initiative and sound judgement to coordinate communications projects and deliver high-quality outcomes along with:

  • Demonstrated experience in communications marketing or public relations
  • Strong writing editing and design skills with an eye for detail and storytelling
  • Experience managing social media and website content
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card Criminal History Check NDIS Worker Screening NT Drivers Licence and influenza vaccination

A qualification in Communications Marketing or a related field or experience in the disability or not-for-profit sector would be well regarded.
