Everyone knows the sequel is always thats why Alstom is even more excited to deliver XTrapolis 2.0!We are in ramp up stage which means multiple opportunities to join others as you and the team embark on pivotal journey for our local community and state. We are seeking interest from individuals who are experianced trade assistants on to join our team at our Ballarat to the Production manager this role would see you perform all train related tasks to complete the assembly of the train where no day will be the same but you will have plenty of opportunities to progress through the levels if you wish.Duties will include:Read apply technical documentation and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures hand & power basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install replace and align subassemblies and self-Inspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure and replace defective parts and cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous work instruction documents tools and railway car parts daily.Qualifications & Experience:Trade assistantwithin the manufacturing environment would be advantageousAbility to be able to interpret technical diagrams & drawingsHigh risk tickets or licences (EWP working at heights etc) would be advantageous (but not mandatory)We Offer:18 weeks parental leave for primary carers & 2 weeks for secondary carers.4-day week (36 hours per week)Day roster for better work-life to 2 extra days of leave (bridging leave) when Anzac Day and Australia Day fall onto a Tuesday or rail pass for travel in gym and confidential wellbeing support for you and your on Car Rental Car Sharing and IT reduction for Income Protection Insurance / Salary continuance leave loading of 17.5%
