As wecontinue to expand our fiber network throughout Western Canada we are seekinga highly organized and detail-oriented Civil Administrator to join our Design& Engineering team and support critical permitting and stakeholdercoordination for our fiber deployment initiatives.
PositionSummary
The Civil Administrator is responsible for coordinating and tracking permittingactivities organizing project documentation and ensuring alignment betweenregulatory approvals and project schedules. This role plays a key part infacilitating communication with municipal and government stakeholders andsupporting timely compliant execution of fiber infrastructure projects.
KeyResponsibilities
- Identify all permits licenses and regulatory approvals required from municipal provincial and federal authorities.
- Prepare submit and track permit applications for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and other network build projects.
- Serve as liaison between RFNOW and municipalities utility providers and other third-party stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all permit applications approvals correspondence and renewal deadlines.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance related to fiber optics construction and deployment.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align permitting timelines with broader project milestones and schedules.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management highlighting potential risks bottlenecks and upcoming expiry dates.
- Support land acquisition processes by researching and identifying permit-related constraints and implications.
- Participate in field site reviews and surveys as needed to verify permitting requirements.
- Stay current with changing legislation regulatory requirements and best practices in permitting processes.
- Adhere to and promote Health & Safety regulations in accordance with legislation and company policy.
Qualifications& Experience
- High School Diploma required; additional certifications in technology planning or project coordination are considered an asset.
- Prior experience in telecom utility planning or infrastructure project administration is preferred.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS or similar mapping/planning software.
- Skilled in Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook) with a strong emphasis on document formatting and tracking.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on professionalism in external stakeholder interactions.
- Self-starter with analytical problem-solving abilities and a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.
