Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Support the development coordination and execution of directives and changes for Universal Kids Resort Merchandise Operations. Coordinate with internal partners in driving new projects and sales initiatives such as seasonal offerings event coordination capital labor etc. Serve as a liaison between Merchandise Warehouse and Shared Services. Ensure all venues meet and exceed Guest Service standards while upholding location theming presentation and brand/intellectual property standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all facets of Merchandise Operation and drive results to ensure optimization and effectiveness of all Merchandise locations across the partnership with Revenue Operations Director implement strategies and initiatives to ensure target goals are met for Merchandise Operations. Oversee presentation inventory levels/control and building maintenance through partnerships with other departments. Implement inventory controls to manage retail shrinkage. Ensure the optimal visual merchandise setup and store layout for target audience. Lead and assist with projects seasonal initiatives and sustainment efforts.
  • Analyze daily Finance flash reports venue statistics revenue reports Guest satisfaction (GSAT) and Guest Comment reports and incident reports and video to stay in tune with the Guest experience and establish strategic plans based on observed trends. Work with the Revenue Operations Director to prioritize discretion and capital planning. Develop and adhere to labor and non-labor budgets and looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of the department.
  • Responsible for the hiring decisions and training of staff. Lead coach and mentor by providing feedback on performance for not only Assistant Managers but also Supervisors as needed. Ensure leadership team meets all objectives and accountabilities.
  • Responsible for providing resort-wide duty manager coverage depending on scheduled shift. Duties will include responding to escalated incidents down times and making proper notifications to senior leadership.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises an Exempt team

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  • At times this individual will cover an area with multiple venues across different departments. This individual will manage daily labor budgets and is responsible for the safe efficient and friendly operation of the venues daily as well as the safety of the Team Members who work at these venues.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Must possess an understanding of P & L and budgetary expenditures.
  • Exceptional communication and Guest services skills.
  • Must have analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as business dictates.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of retail/merchandise operations experience with 1 year of leadership experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
