Job Summary

SALARY: $54180 - $59736 (dependent upon certification level)/Comprehensive benefits package

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Department of Inspections/Planning has an opportunity for a qualified individual with strong communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully with customers and the general public. Applicants should possess a working knowledge of sound construction practices and related building codes laws and ordinances to perform technical work inspecting residential and commercial buildings for compliance. Qualified candidates will possess a Standard Level I II or III Certificate and considerable experience in HVAC plumbing building and electrical trades and a valid NC Driver License. Demonstrated initiative with limited supervision are key components of this position.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent with moderate experience in construction and possession of Level I Building Electrical Mechanical and/or Plumbing certifications are requirements for consideration.
