Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for all areas of brewing cellaring tank cleaning filtering and yeast management.
Responsible for milling mashing lautering wort boiling and transferring to fermenter.
Responsible for transferring beer to serving vessels including but not limited to brite tanks kegs cans and bottles.
Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures to ensure the beer is produced consistently free of defects true to style and of the highest quality.
Work with brewing supervisor and procurement manager to anticipate material needs for brewing activities.
Monitor water quality gravities temperatures and carbonations.
Stay current with developing beer styles and propose new beer recipes.
Provide leadership for the brewery staff through education and training.
Assist QA staff with collecting samples for lab analysis.
Enter daily brewing activities into production tracking systems (Vicinity). Reconcile those activities periodically through the month with physical counts to ensure accuracy of information provided.
Complete monthly inventory counts and provide organized information to brewing and accounting management.
Responsible for working with the Brewing Supervisor/Master Brewer to assist in scheduling tasks and support once a weekly production schedule is posted.
Creation of task list including brewing schedule cellar schedule packaging (kegging and canning) cleaning side work etc.
Work with brewery staff to ensure a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.
Work cooperatively with managers to develop brew schedules packaging schedules etc.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Brew Master.
Working Conditions

Flexible to work a rotating schedule as business needs arise (typical work week 45 hours).
Position requires standing for long periods of time (up to 12 hours) bending stooping twisting and lifting products and materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
Routine pushing pulling reaching upper body and arm rotation arm extension and climbing ladders.
Exposure to various temperature changes.
Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (ear plugs gloves boots etc.).
Supervision of Others
This position does not require any management responsibilities.
Education/Qualifications
Degree in Brewing Science or Technology is preferred but not required.
Minimum 2 years brewing experience in a production brewery or brewpub
Recipe development and creativity
Experience with brewery quality assurance and quality control plans
Knowledge of computers (Word Excel Outlook).
Knowledge of safe work operations safety policies and procedures.
Attention to details ability to recognize when there is a problem.
Positive attitude with an ongoing sense of urgency.
Ability to understand and execute against deadlines.
Excellent time and people management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
