Year 2 Teacher – Good School – Peterborough – January 2026 Start

An established Good primary in Peterborough invites applications for a passionate Year 2 Teacher to join its KS1 phase on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The Year 2 Teacher role starts with a comprehensive induction package in the weeks before January 2026 and the appointed Year 2 Teacher will be teaching full-time from January 2026 supported by experienced colleagues and strong leadership.

As the Year 2 Teacher you will plan well-sequenced learning that secures solid foundations in reading writing and number. The Year 2 Teacher will lead daily phonics guided reading and investigation-based learning that stimulates curiosity and resilience. The Year 2 Teacher will use a range of formative assessment strategies to identify gaps and to personalise learning. As a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher you will lead interventions liaise with parents and contribute to whole-school improvement from January 2026.

This Year 2 Teacher post sits within a collaborative phase team who meet regularly to moderate standards and share practice. The Year 2 Teacher will benefit from peer coaching bespoke CPD and opportunities to develop professionally in areas of interest. The school will support the Year 2 Teacher with an induction schedule in January 2026 and ongoing mentoring after January 2026 ensuring the Year 2 Teacher has the resources and time to make a real difference from January 2026.

The ideal Year 2 Teacher holds QTS has proven KS1 experience and can demonstrate impact in accelerating progress. The Year 2 Teacher will be confident delivering systematic phonics and early number work and will be skilled at differentiating to meet the needs of all learners. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be prepared to attend induction and planning sessions in the run-up to January 2026 and to take up full teaching duties from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher.
