A teacher plans and delivers lessons supports student learning and helps develop students knowledge skills and behavior in line with the schools curriculum and goals.
Core responsibilities
Prepare lesson plans teaching materials and classroom activities aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
Teach classes explain concepts lead discussions and use different methods (presentations exercises group work) to engage students.
Assess and record student progress by setting homework tests and assignments marking work and giving feedback and grades.
Classroom and communication
Maintain an orderly safe and inclusive classroom environment managing behavior and supporting a positive learning culture.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians through meetings and reports about students performance progress and behavior.
Collaborate with other teachers and school staff attend meetings and training and contribute to school events and activities
Qualifications :
For a school teacher typical qualifications are:
Completion of a bachelors degree in education or in a subject area plus a teaching qualification (e.g. . or equivalent).
Knowledge of the relevant curriculum child development and classroom management strategies often supported by teaching internships or practice teaching.
In many regions a teaching license/registration and ongoing professional development or training are required to remain eligible to teach.
