Title: Sr. Office Engineer
Position Overview:
The Sr. Office Engineer will serve as a key member of the project management team for transportation infrastructure and development projects. Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer this senior-level position is responsible for overseeing administrative documentation and coordination functions to ensure compliance with project specifications schedules budgets and regulatory requirements. The Sr. Office Engineer will play a critical role in supporting efficient project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety quality and fiscal responsibility in a high-stakes transportation environment. This position requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with transportation authorities contractors architects and regulatory agencies. The position will be based at the project office with occasional site visits to onsite facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive project documentation including contract submittals change orders progress reports daily logs and as-built drawings ensuring all records comply with policies regulatory codes and requirements.
- Oversee cost control processes including tracking material quantities labor costs and subcontractor invoices; prepare monthly pay applications and reconcile budgets using tools such as Procore Primavera and Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate scheduling activities including reviewing contractor schedules updating critical path methods and resolving delays to minimize disruptions.
- Facilitate communication between field personnel office staff and client representatives; prepare and distribute meeting minutes RFIs (Requests for Information) and correspondence to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of shop drawings material certifications and test reports; verify compliance with project specifications building codes and environmental regulations.
- Support risk management by identifying potential issues (e.g. scope changes disputes) maintaining insurance and bonding documentation and assisting in claims analysis.
- Supervise junior office staff or administrative personnel providing training and guidance on project procedures and software tools.
- Prepare and analyze reports for project status including earned value management productivity metrics and forecasting to support decision-making by the project team and leadership.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols including OSHA standards and specific guidelines for working in active environments; assist in coordinating safety meetings and incident reporting.
- Collaborate with the project team to support value engineering efforts sustainability initiatives and passenger experience enhancements as required by the operational mission.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Architecture or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in construction administration or office engineering with demonstrated expertise on public sector trasportation projects. Experience with regulatory compliance is highly preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: Valid drivers license. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is preferred. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Bluebeam AutoCAD MS Office Suite project management tools) is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts bidding processes and regulations.
- Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills including report writing and stakeholder presentations.

- Ability to pass background checks as required for the project.
Other Requirements
Valid drivers license. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends and travel as needed. Must pass background check drug screening and comply with ethics policies.
Wage Requirement
- Starting Salary range for this job is $12000.00 - $150000.00. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill education experience and working environment
