Job Summary
We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for one of our clients in Savannah GA.
Job Description:
Works as part of a health care team to assess individual needs plan and modify care and implement interventions. Under broad supervision provides general direct nursing care to injured ill convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments administering medication and giving injections.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes conferring with other health-care team members as necessary.
- Provides basic client care and treatments such as dressing wounds treating bedsores giving enemas douches alcohol rubs and massages or performing catheterizations.
- Answers individuals calls and determines how to assist them
- Observes individuals charting and reporting changes in individuals conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action
- Measures and records individuals vital signs such as height weight temperature blood pressure pulse and respiration
- Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids and notes times and amounts on individuals charts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current unencumbered License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia or a state that that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Minimum of 1 yr. of psychiatric nursing experience required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and have the strength to push and pull and stand for long periods of time.
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
Work hours:
- 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
