Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability We are looking for enthusiastic motivated flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want.

The Service supports people with learning/ physical disabilities in the short breaks service over 24hrs.

The Wake and Watch support worker role involves all aspects of support including providing personal care support with managing finance administering medication and ensuring peoples needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.

The successful applicant will value others and have a person-centred approach supporting people with dignity and respect always.

We are recruiting part time Wake and Watch staff to provide overnight support for individuals who have learning disabilities and complex behaviour needs. Usual working hours will be 9.30pm until 7.30am and the role will include implementing the individuals night-time support plan and other agreed activities. Successful candidates will be expected to be available to undertake training and team events including probationsupervision and team meetingsduring daytime working hours for which payment is made.

You will be given a thorough induction to the role and be well supported by an experienced management team.

Key Accountabilities

To support people with disabilities including individuals with profound and complex needs using person centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan

To support people with dignity and respect to meet their day to day needs.

To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines always.

Skills and Experience

Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role.

Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment. Care Certificate training is also provided. Please note all training will be funded by the Service.
