About the role
The Carer Assessor Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator (CAREC) playsa vital role in facilitating and completing the end-to-end recruitment and assessment process for prospective carers. This includes ensuring all assessments are conducted in line with Life Without Barriers standards policies and procedures.
This is a full-time maximum-term position based at our Milton office with the contract running until 30 September 2026.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment and assessment process for carer applicants
Conduct phone interviews home visits and in-person meetings with applicants their families and referees
Facilitate carer training sessions and support applicants through learning requirements
Identify placement issues training needs and provide feedback to care teams
Ensure assessments meet LWBs standards the CARE model and relevant legislation
Onboard and mentor new team members in carer recruitment processes
Organise and participate in community engagement events including carer information sessions
Experience in child-focused assessments in child and family welfare settings
Strong background in casework and a strengths-based culturally responsive practice
Familiarity with trauma-informed care models such as CARE (or ability to learn quickly)
Excellent time management and ability to work independently or in a virtual team
Understanding of the challenges faced by carers in out-of-home care environments
Willingness to deliver training and identify carer learning needs
Recognised Social Work or Psychology degree or relevant qualification with strong casework experience
Valid drivers licence
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
