As a Fraud Analyst youll be the detective behind the data using your analytical skills to uncover unusual claiming trends detect potential fraud or leakage and support key business decisions that keep our fund strong and sustainable.
Every day youll turn raw data into insight and action developing automated dashboards to supporting active investigations you will help ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes for our members.
Youll collaborate closely with our payment integrity team and other internal stakeholders bringing a sharp analytical eye and a practical mindset to one of the most important functions within HBF.
What youll do
Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose reports on leakage fraud and claiming patterns
Build smart automation and dashboards that streamline how insights are delivered
Extract and analyse data to support investigations and real-time decisions
Spott trends and build proactive strategies that prevent fraud before it happens
Present insights that help leaders make informed timely and effective decisions
Collaborate across teams to strengthen our overall fraud prevention strategy
About you
Youre a natural problem solver who loves diving into data to uncover what others might miss. You combine curiosity with rigour balancing investigative instincts with solid technical skills.
Youll bring:
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Actuarial Science Mathematics Statistics Data Science or Economics
Experience with SAS SQL Snowflake and data visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI
Strong communication and report writing skills using data to tell a story
A sharp eye for anomalies patterns and opportunities for improvement
Experience with Python or R and understanding of private health insurance billing would be advantageous in this role
