Engineering Manager (Python)

Responsibilities:

• Leading a cross functional team of Python Frontend Backend/API and Quality Assurance engineers to successfully deliver on product objectives and milestones.
• Actively contribute across the full software development lifecycle from ideation and planning through development testing customer feedback and iterative improvements.
• Drive continuous enhancements across the entire technology stack ensuring scalability performance and quality.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners Data Engineers and Data Scientists to effectively expose and deliver data through the web application.
• Design build and maintain the backend technology stack including Python Airflow PostgreSQL and Kafka.
• Provide architectural and design leadership manage technical debt and foster collaboration and engagement within the product team.
• Partner with other Engineering Managers on cross-team initiatives such as continuous deployment testing and monitoring improvements and frontend user logging.

Qualifications :

• 10 years of professional software development experience including 4 years in leadership positions.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong agile mindset with the ability to iterate quickly deliver value early and provide actionable feedback.
• Proven leadership and decision-making skills combined with excellent communication abilities in both verbal and written English.
• Advanced expertise in Python (3.5) with a solid understanding of modern backend practices.
• Familiarity with modern frontend technologies and core web development principles.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing public APIs using OpenAPI specifications and service-level contracts.
• Practical experience with map and location libraries (e.g. Mapbox).
• Demonstrated ability to coach mentor and develop engineering talent fostering both technical and professional growth.
• Strong knowledge of software testing at all levels from unit tests to full end-to-end automation.
