In this role youll:


Play a key role in our Third-Party Interface Management Strategy and Improvement Team focusing on the Sydney Metro West project a new 24-kilometre underground metro railway which will double rail capacity between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD transforming Sydney for generations to come.

You will provide specialist adjoining land rights advice and management of various adjoining land rights acquisitions and transactions to support the delivery objectives of the Sydney Metro West project.

You will be responsible for undertaking transactions for the acquisition of temporary rights on adjoining land including but not limited to freehold leasehold and substratum related matters easements leases & licences and other property tenure related matters. You will also be responsible for the management of commercial negotiations with landowners and interested parties as well as working closely with external service providers such as surveyors and property valuation firms.

You will be joining a high performing team who prides themselves on cultivating an open and collaborative culture. The Adjoining Land Rights Manager will play a vital role in enabling the construction of Sydney Metro projects that will transform and shape the future of Australias largest city.

Please note this is a fixed term opportunity up until 17/05/2026.

You will be based at 680 George St approximately 2-3 days a week with some occasional site visits.

About you


You will be excited to leverage your experience working within major public infrastructure project environments.

You will have experience working with and understanding of the New South Wales (NSW) Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) legislation and NSW Government land acquisition policy and procedures.

You will be familiar with construction and have experience working within major public infrastructure projects preferably within the NSW government environment.

You will have excellent negotiating interpersonal and presentation skills and are confident in communicating your findings and recommendations to senior executives.

You are recognised as having highly developed written communication skills including the ability to prepare high level presentations and complex briefings to senior executives and Ministers. You enjoy bringing people along for the journey and display professional empathy awareness and apply a commercial strategic lens to negotiations.

You will be particularly strong on process and attention to detail.

You have demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills and judgement including the ability to interpret and apply legislation policy and guidelines.
