Data Center Technician, AWS DC Operations (DCO)

Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an on-call rotation.

Effective May 15 2017 logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States)


Key job responsibilities
These activities include the following:

* Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each
* Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
* Bending lifting stretching and reaching
* Standing and walking for up to 8 hours a day
* Ascending and descending ladders stairs and gangways safely and without limitation
* Work in an industrial environment
* Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).

You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays.

- 1 years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities mission critical plants or production facilities or 1 years of data center engineering experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Willingness to participate in a primary responder rotation and support 24/7 data center operations

- Associates degree or above or Network or Security certification
- Experience in data center
- Understanding of network design protocols and troubleshooting
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Understanding of in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g. PCIe)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
