Primary Purpose:Bond Project Communications
Promote positive public relations between the school district and community. Prepare and provide
information to the public about the activities goals policies and bond program of the school
district. Distribute pertinent information about the district and its activities to employees. Lead and
coordinate communications related to the voter-approved bond including construction progress
updates stakeholder engagement and transparency reporting.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in English journalism communications or related field and/or equivalent work
experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent public relations organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create basic photo/video content and coordinate professional photo/video as needed
Familiarity with public sector transparency practices; ability to translate construction and financial
updates into public-friendly language
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets perform data analysis and do word processing
Familiarity with using graphic design programs such as Canva and Adobe Suite products
Experience:
Previous experience in journalism communications or public relations (Preferred but
not required)
*Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an integrated communications plan for the voter-approved bond program aligned
to board priorities and district strategic plan.
Produce regular plain-language construction progress updates (e.g. monthly/phase milestones)
including timelines budgets at-a-glance safety milestones and upcoming impacts to students/families.
Maintain a public-facing bond webpage or microsite with dashboards photo/video galleries FAQs
timelines and transparency documents (e.g. reports slide decks).
Plan and publish social media content about bond milestones; monitor engagement; respond to
common questions; escalate issues as appropriate.
Coordinate community meetings campus briefings and construction walk-throughs; prepare visuals
(slides one-pagers infographics) and talking points for district leaders.
Collaborate with Facilities/Operations Finance Technology and campus administratorsand with
architects CMAR/general contractors and owners repsto verify information and secure visuals.
Establish a predictable reporting cadence (e.g. monthly update posts; quarterly community reports) and
maintain an editorial calendar.
Track and report communications metrics (web email social attendance/feedback) to inform
continuous improvement.
Ensure accessibility (readability translations alt text/captions) and compliance with district policies and
applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare rapid-response communications for construction changes affecting traffic patterns campus
access safety or schedules.
