Position Description Summary
Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions (full-time one semester part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. The 100% Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program enables students to become license-eligible for the counseling profession in many states throughout the program. The programs primary goal is to prepare students to function independently and successfully as a clinical mental health counselor in a variety of professional settings. An overview of the program can be found here: Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment a successful applicant must be qualified to teach graduate level courses and/or supervise students in field or internship experiences. An overview of the courses can be found here: will be expected to plan and deliver instruction through multiple modes of instruction including: asynchronous (e.g. Brightspace) and synchronous (e.g. Zoom). In addition to teaching classes temporary faculty are expected to hold office hours engage with departmental faculty attend program and department meetings complete scholarly activities related to the position and engage in service activities (e.g. interviewing graduate student applicants). The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
