Rec Center And Youth Fitness Attendant Job Title: Rec Center and Youth Fitness Attendant Department: Physical Reports to: Youth & Teen Director Schedule: 15-20 hours/week; evenings and weekends POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development healthy living and social responsibility. Provides supervision of Rec Center and Youth Fitness Center areas. Creates positive nurturing relationships with children while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the facility policies and ensures all members and guest have a pleasant and safe experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Supervises and patrols Rec Center and Youth Fitness Center.
- Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents children and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Maintains the cleanliness of Rec Center and Youth Fitness Center reports maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Engage members in homework help games and activities
- Shows participants how to properly use machines and how to properly keep track of their progress.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: - High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
- Previous experience working with children
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- CPR First Aid Y Leader certifications and Child Abuse Prevention Blood Borne Pathogens and Sexual Harassment training within 30 days of hire date.
