Job Summary


Under the leadership of the Head Cashiers Cashiers are responsible for the front counter/admissions operation for the Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center.

Dates Needed:June - August

Hours: 20-40 hours/week (If candidate is interested in assisting with swim lessons there is the opportunity for additional hours as a Swim Lesson Aide). Cashier hours will take place Monday Sunday between 11:30 am and 8:30 pm.

Special Note:
The Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center is undergoing a major renovation and is anticipated to open to the public in July of 2026. While the opening is later than a typical season we will begin paid training in Juneto ensure staff are fully prepared for opening day.

This season offers a unique opportunity to be part of the opening team for a completely reimagined aquatic facility. The renovation includes updated bathhouse facilities concession stand offices lifeguard room a facility-wide speaker system and new pool features such as a climbing wall family-friendly slide aqua zipline and interactive play structures.

Staff will benefit from additional training time team building and the chance to help set the tone for a fresh start season in an amazing newly renovated facilityinside and out.

Essential Job Functions

Major Duties/Essential Functions

  • Greet and assist guests as the first point of contact at the Family Aquatic Center
  • Process daily admissions accurately using the Xplor recreation software system
  • Provide friendly helpful customer service and answer questions about pool rules schedules and amenities
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner
  • Handle an assigned cash drawer responsibly; including counting at the start and end of shifts and following proper cash-handling policies
  • Help maintain a clean safe and welcoming front desk and lobby area including light clean-up and chair resets as needed throughout the facility
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures at the admissions desk
  • Enforce pool rules in a respectful and calm manner to help ensure a safe environment for all guests
  • Report concerns incidents or patron feedback to the Manager on Duty
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support daily aquatic center operations.



Requirements of Work

Experience/Education:

  • Must be 15 years or older
  • Previous experience in cash handling preferred
  • Prior customer service experience preferred

Skills knowledge or abilities needed:

  • Experience working in an aquatic facility setting is desired
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification is desired
  • Experience and/or knowledge of customer service and conflict resolution best practices
  • Ability and willingness to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability and willingness to keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Ability to accurately count money
  • Provide clear communication to and from supervisor and the public
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
