Internal Communications and Engagement is a key function within our Corporate Affairs team. Our role is an important one - we help M&G achieve its ambitions by making sure all of our colleagues are crystal clear on what were aiming to achieve together how we want to do it and what their part is in making it happen.

As an Internal Communications business partner youll play a big part in making sure everyone in the teams you support feels informed listened to engaged and inspired.

Youll work closely with our Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and her senior leadership team to understand their business and priorities and create the communications plan that helps them deliver on this. Youll also lead and deliver all communications relating to a key programme within our Risk & Compliance function.

You wont do this alone. Youll report directly into the Head of Internal Communications work closely with the our Internal Communications team and Corporate Affairs function Risk & Compliance leadership team and key stakeholders across our business.

Key accountabilities for this role:

• Leading and delivering all communications relating to key Risk & Compliance programmes youll be responsible for planning and executing our engagement plan for Risk & Compliance programme activity. This will involve owning key messages and setting up communication channels and audiences as appropriate. Youll also work closely with our other Internal Communications Business Partners to provide input that supports communications within the local functions.
• Creating a clear and effective communications approach youll assess the needs of our Risk & Compliance function and work with the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and her office to create and deliver a communications framework and approach that helps to build a great place to work and sets the team up for success
• Delivering transformation set pieces we have an ambitious change agenda. A big part of your role will be about how you get your head around this and create a storyboard which helps people understand what were doing why were doing it and what the journey will look like for them along the way. Thats about being creative clear and experienced in delivering effective change communications
• Driving colleague engagement youll understand the needs of our colleagues and play an important role as the conduit between colleague sentiment and our leadership team making sure that were listening and reacting to what our colleagues need and evolving a communications plan that ultimately drives engagement at all levels of the business
• Establishing great relationships youll build tight relationships with a number of key people across our business whether thats members of our leadership team key influencers across the business teammates in our Corporate Affairs team or fellow business partners from our other support functions working with the Risk & Compliance team
  

Some of the skills and experience youll need:

• A track record of business partnering at a senior level ideally in the Financial Services industry but its not a deal-breaker if not
• A proven ability to plan and deliver complex change and transformation programme communications
• Strong influencing skills that help you lead and challenge on conversations at an executive level - balancing the need to set clear expectations on where our team adds value and a can do attitude
• Methodical and logical thinking underpinned by an ability to communicate with absolute clarity
• A creative itch to tell really great stories through engaging content within your teams
• A reputation for getting stuff done sometimes on your own sometimes with your team sometimes with people from across the business but always to a high standard and on time
• An interest in data and analytics to improve our approach and to create proof points that demonstrate our impact and help you manage expectations effectively
• The ability to get the best from those around you and to contribute to an engaged high performing team
• An interest in developing a broad network both internally and externally to make sure your communications and engagement plans are relevant and informed with an eye on industry trends and capabilities
