This isnt about tweaking a wing section in a simulation report. Its about taking full ownership of the aerodynamic function for a system thats never flown before. It has to survive real weather hit ruthless efficiency targets and prove a path to a cleaner energy future.
The Role
Own the aerodynamic design and performance of a novel payload on a fixed-wing UAV.
Develop CFD models validate with flight data and drive iterative design loops from simulation through to flight test.
Shape airflow around complex optics and hardware that dont naturally want to fly then make them perform.
Work alongside systems embedded and electronics engineers to take your aero concepts from CAD to flight-ready prototypes.
Lead the creation of in-house aerodynamic capability: tools methods test setups and documentation.

If this technology scales it redefines how energy is transmitted globally.
Aero is make-or-break: without your design the system doesnt get off the ground.
Youll be the first aerodynamicist in the team what you build becomes the foundation of how the company thinks about aero.
What Youll Bring
Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Evidence of aerodynamic design work FSAE UAVs rocketry or similar.
Competence in CFD (Fluent OpenFOAM or equivalent) with curiosity for validating models against real data.
Solid understanding of lift/drag theory stability & control and how geometry choices play into performance.
CAD and prototyping experience ability to translate analysis into testable hardware.
Enthusiasm to take full responsibility for aero outcomes with mentorship available from external advisors.
