Job Summary

Director Emergency Services- RN (Permanent Role)

Location: Richmond VA 23201

Shift: Variable Shift

Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)

Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

Identify and address actual and potential issues affecting emergency services; implement solutions with proper communication and follow-up.
Participate in departmental hospital-wide and service committees; maintain open communication with represented parties.
Drive initiatives that enhance the patient experience within the Emergency Department.
Coach and mentor staff provide constructive feedback and support professional development through individualized development plans.
Enforce and comply with all HR policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively across teams and leadership to share departmental organizational and industry updates.
Promote a culture of employee engagement using evidence-based practices.
Build strong relationships across departments to achieve organizational goals.
Conduct regular staff and patient rounding; identify and nurture future leaders.
Develop and enforce standards for emergency care and ensure compliance through measurable processes.
Design implement and assess a continuous quality improvement program aligned with the hospitals mission.
Monitor compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements for patient care safety and staff practices.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) Required
- Masters degree in Nursing Business Administration Healthcare Administration or a related field Preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in Emergency Services Required
- 3 years in a leadership or management role Preferred (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Virginia (or eligible to obtain) Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)-Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course)-Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)-Required
