DescriptionABM seeks aSenior Tax Associate Income Taxto join the tax team in our Sugar Land this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and review of tax compliance and provision for domestic operations. This includes U.S. tax provision and compliance for Federal State and city returns. Given the growing footprint of ABM the successful candidate will be part of a dedicated tax team that will challenge your growth and development while supporting an evolving $8B organization.
As a Senior Tax Associate you will report to the Tax Manager and be part of a team of 5. The responsibilities not limited to:
- Preparing federal corporate income tax return filings for aFortune 500 company that produces a detailed consolidated federal return with a moderate to difficult level of complexity
- Preparing and reviewing state income tax returns; moderate to complex returns
- Assisting with quarterly and annually tax provision
- Ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations
- Assisting with special projects related to taxes in particular income and franchise taxes
- Communicating with taxing authorities to resolve notices and assessments
- Ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with federal state and local tax laws procedures rules and regulations and Company policies
- Conducting research of federal and state issues
- Assisting with tax controversies and audits
- Assisting with international tax matters (<10% business footprint)
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MST preferred
- 5 years of progressive corporate income tax experience in either public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
- Proficient or have strong working knowledge of Excel an ERP system (preferably Oracle) and tax preparation software (specifically OneSource Tax Software)
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- Experience with international tax is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax accounting and reporting under US GAAP (preferred)
- Critical thinker with ability to pivot and problem solve
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent oral written analytical organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to perform timely efficiently and effectively under monthly quarterly and annual internal and external deadlines
