About the Role
As a Family Solicitor youll manage a diverse range of family law matters offering expert legal advice and support to clients during sensitive and complex personal legal challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Family Law Case Management:
- Handling various family law matters:
- Divorce and separation
- Child arrangements and custody
- Financial settlements
- Domestic violence proceedings
- Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
- Cohabitation disputes
- Conducting comprehensive legal assessments
- Preparing detailed case strategies
- Drafting legal documentation
- Managing case progression and timelines
- Client Support and Relationship Management:
- Providing empathetic and clear legal advice
- Maintaining sensitive client communication
- Managing client expectations
- Supporting clients through emotional legal processes
- Offering pragmatic dispute resolution solutions
- Dispute Resolution and Negotiation:
- Negotiating fair settlements
- Preparing for mediation and collaborative law
- Representing clients in court proceedings
- Advising on alternative dispute resolution methods
- Protecting childrens best interests
- Professional Development and Teamwork:
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments
- Supporting junior team members
- Participating in continuous learning

What Were Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with:
- Newly Qualified (NQ) status or
- Up to 5 years post-qualification experience
- Strong academic background in family law
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathetic and supportive approach
- Ability to manage complex sensitive cases
- Proficiency in:
- Legal research
- Case preparation
- Negotiation
- Court proceedings
- Understanding of child welfare and protection
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable:
- Additional family law qualifications
- Experience in complex family law cases
- Training in mediation or collaborative law
- Understanding of international family law
- Knowledge of child psychology and welfare
