Whats the role

Westpacs Group Privacy and Records team forms a cross-divisional team to enable an enterprise-wide approach in the management of Westpacs Data Privacy and Records Management risks. Our vision is to support Westpac be trusted with our communities through responsible handling and protection of information in order to become our customers #1 bank and partner through life.

As a cross divisional team we have the unique opportunity to engage with all Division to navigate and monitor their privacy and records management risk a Privacy & Records Risk Executive Manager you will oversee our 2nd line Privacy & Records Risk Operations and Systems team and drive the effective delivery of Westpacs Privacy Risk Assessment program enquiry management and systems operations. This includes managing a team third parties and key stakeholders from various divisions to handle privacy and records risk assessments respond to enquiries from 1st line teams regulators and subject access requests identify control gaps and issues and project manage initiatives aimed at improving privacy-related processes.

What do I need

  • Extensive background in Privacy and Records risk and governance including data mapping controls design and embedment
  • Strong experience in data technology and security governance
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering process improvement and systems automation initiatives
  • Advisory experience in providing pragmatic and fit for purpose risk and controls advice and insights
  • Demonstrated experience leading coaching and mentoring teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
