About TNA Netherlands

TNA Netherlands is a specialized manufacturing site within TNA Solutions a global leader in integrated food processing and packaging solutions. The Woerden facility focuses on high-end customized equipment for potato processing including fryers peelers washers dryers and vacuum frying systems.



About The Role

The Plant Manager will lead a low-volume high-complexity project-based manufacturing operation where each unit is engineered-to-order and tailored to specific customer requirements. The role demands a strong blend of technical expertise project management capability and leadership in a dynamic innovation-driven setting.

The Plant Manager will report to the Chief Manufacturing Officer in Australia.



Key responsibilities

Project-Based Manufacturing Leadership

  • Oversee the execution of bespoke manufacturing projects from design handover to final assembly and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including production process engineering procurement and quality to meet project timelines and specifications.
  • Manage resource planning and scheduling to align with fluctuating project demands and customer delivery dates.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure efficient use of materials labor and equipment in a low-volume high-mix production environment.
  • Implement lean principles tailored to project-based workflows.
  • Maintain high standards of safety quality and compliance throughout the plant.

Team & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop a skilled workforce including assemblers welders electricians and technicians.
  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Support training initiatives to enhance technical capabilities and cross-functional flexibility.

Customer & Innovation Engagement

  • Participate in customer visits and technical discussions to ensure alignment between manufacturing and client expectations.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and R&D teams to improve manufacturability and design efficiency.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to long-term capacity planning and investment decisions.
  • Support digital transformation and automation initiatives where applicable.
  • Drive sustainability and waste reduction efforts in line with corporate goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership preferably in custom machinery or food processing equipment.
  • Proven success in managing low-volume project-based production environments.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems project scheduling tools and lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with vacuum frying acrylamide reduction or other advanced food processing technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft D365 (Dynamics/Navision) ERP system.
  • Familiarity with CE marking food safety standards and international compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
