Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Accompanist to join our music department. The accompanist will provide professional piano

accompaniment for choir rehearsals vocal and instrumental performances concerts and other school-related events. This role is integral to supporting the

success of our students and the music program.

Responsibilities:

Accompany school choirs ensembles and individual students during rehearsals concerts and competitions.

Collaborate with music instructors to prepare and rehearse pieces.

Assist students in learning and refining their musical performances.

Provide accompaniment for concerts and special events as required.

Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with students and staff.

Perform additional music-related duties as assigned by the music director.

Additional optional contracted duties include supporting the school musical.

Qualifications:

Proficient piano skills with experience accompanying soloists and ensembles.

Ability to sight-read music and adapt to different musical styles including ability to improvise and read lead sheet music.

Read/play choral score with at least four parts

Experience working with vocalists instrumentalists and/or school ensembles.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Previous experience as an accompanist or in a similar role is preferred.

Bachelors degree in Music or a related field is a plus but not required.

Work Environment:

May require occasional evenings and weekends.
