Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To accompany jazz piano saxophone and/or trombone students in studio classes and juries.
Transferable Skills:
Interpretive collaborative improvisational and performance abilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sightread jazz lead sheet scores in a combo context.
Participate in the creation and performance of head arrangements.
Improvise in a variety of jazz styles.
Engage in the process and discussion of interactive rhythm section playing.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Proficient with jazz vocabulary on a rhythm section instrument.
Ability to serve in supportive and featured musical roles (comp and solo).
Wage Range: $11.75-12.75
