Job Summary

SUMMARY: This position is located in the Facility Management (FM) department of the Carl T Curtis Health Education Center (CTCHEC) Macy NE. The purpose of this position is to supervise FM staff and manage compliance of facility-related activities. Facility activities require daily oversight to ensure State compliance of Licensures Contract regulations and Departments policy and procedures Procurement Standards. Work closely within facility compliance management is the process by which the health centers buildings & facility equipment achieve & prove standards have been met for patient care; these standards can be nationally recognized or locally implemented laws or regulations. At the level of ambulatory care (outpatient) or long-term care (nursing home) there are numerous organizations (bodies) whose facility-related codes & metrics must be met to prove a sufficient standard of care. This position will oversee existing CTCHEC facility activities in order to ensure staff real property and processes comply with applicable standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Supervise FM staff in activities related to State regulations maintenance real property procurement and safety.
  • Ensure staff execute FM duties in accordance with applicable laws regulations and codes; conduct performance reviews on individual staff at required intervals; implement staff actions as needed.
  • Manage all contracts administered within the FM; manage design agreements; administer construction contracts; and review FM purchase orders.
  • Lead FM staff involvement or assistance in on-going construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with State regulations; perform safety inspections of FM activities; and institute safety reforms as needed.
  • Responds to or coordinates corrective actions for facility-related deficiencies identified by risk management or other department directors; conducts or assists as appropriate in root-cause-analysis of State regulation deficiencies.
  • Oversee real property & equipment inventory under the management of the FM department; manage real estate transactions related to CTCHEC properties and land.
  • Provide relevant safety and technical training to staff.
  • Chairs or attends committee meetings as assigned.
  • Assist Administration with Accreditation goals.
  • Lead planning and implementation teams for critical agency-wide projects as needed
  • Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operations infrastructure of systems processes and personnel designed to accommodate meeting the objectives of the organizations
  • Research funding opportunities to enhance facility growth.
  • Performs other temporary duties as assigned.
  • Experience with negotiating and advocacy with IHS and outside agencies such as accrediting bodies and State Medical Boards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 105 (l) Lease applications and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Small Ambulatory Program applications and reporting.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or similar field.
  • At least 5 years experience in a supervisory role overseeing a department and budget
  • Ability to work within a fast paced quickly evolving organization and manage multiple complex priorities
