This is a non-union positionThe Sr Advisor Accounting Fixed Asset is responsible for leading various special projects for the US Capital Assets team and assisting the US capital assets manager and supervisors with review and preparation of their financial reports. Primary lead for Finance initiatives to integrate and harmonize Capital Fixed Assets related accounting policies processes and reporting between Ontario and US LDCs.

Identify coordinate and lead various special projects for the US Capital Assets team (e.g. process improvements system enhancements harmonization of GDS Capital and automation) to drive efficiencies within Capital Assets and business client groups.
Provide support for Unify (ERP conversion to Oracle Cloud) on upcoming system releases and be the point of contact on behalf of Capital Assets.
Assist the Capital Assets Manager and Supervisors with review of financial reports for accuracy completeness and timeliness of the outputs from the Capital Assets team as needed.
Provide guidance to internal business clients to facilitate their compliance with Enbridges Capitalization Policy and governance processes and act as the first point of contact for business clients within the US utilities.
Liaise with GDS Capital Management to ensure consistency in interpretation and application of capital processes and capitalization decisions to ensure alignment across GDS.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert in representing Capital Assets with external consultants regulators etc. (e.g. Depreciation Study). Also provide support to various regulatory requests and filings including assistance with rate rebasing requests.
Coordinate with TIS to resolve system issues impacting Capital Assets.
Analyze and solve complex accounting matters. Make recommendations to managements for continuous improvement in accounting and business processes and procedures independently and with minimal supervision.
University/college degree in business commerce or related field.
Minimum of 6 years directly related and progressive experience.
Accounting designation or equivalent certification (CPA CMA or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
Outstanding interpersonal skills combined with a results-oriented mentality while being able to share knowledge experience and training with all team members in a non-biased manner.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills as well as keen attention to detail.
Independently assess exercise good judgement and accurately resolve complex issues encountered in the performance of job duties
Lead component providing coaching direction and review of work performed while being able to develop team members on routine non-routine and/or complex assignments.
Proactive and skilled at anticipating problems before they arise and implementing mitigations.
Excellent written and verbal communication with an ability to be persuasive and communicate in a clear well-organized manner.
