Director of Nursing (DON)
A Director of Nursing (DON) is needed in Ocala FL.
Nestled in the heart of central Florida Ocala is celebrated for its sprawling horse farms crystal-clear natural springs and a welcoming small-town atmosphere. This position is within a nonprofit that plays a pivotal role in the regions healthcare delivery serving both community members and correctional health patients. This is a mission-driven leadership opportunity with high visibility and a critical role in stabilizing and uplifting a large clinical support team through a period of organizational culture reset.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range: $100000 $115000 annually based on experience
- Medical Insurance: Multiple plan options including 100% premium coverage for employee-only on the Domestic plan

- Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional work outside of those hours
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for approximately 40 Medical Assistants and 56 LPNs through three center-based nurse managers
- Foster a positive accountable culture grounded in empathy collaboration and mission alignment
- Ensure optimal support for line-level staff while avoiding micromanagement and promoting autonomy
- Lead staff development training and performance evaluations
- Manage clinic workflows staffing models and strategic scheduling
- Collaborate closely with the CMO providers and department heads to align nursing operations with organizational goals
- Act as a stabilizing force during a time of cultural transformation and heightened internal visibility
- Maintain oversight of vaccine protocols and inventory management
- Ensure regulatory compliance safety protocols and quality assurance standards across care sites
Requirements
- Active and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Florida
- At least 3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience; FQHC or Outpatient experience preferred but not required
- Proven ability to lead through change and cultivate a healthy work environment
- Experience supervising large clinical support teams in outpatient or community health settings
- Strong communicator and listener with a collaborative mission-driven leadership style
- Comfortable working closely with executive leadership and reporting directly to the CMO
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) preferred
