The Los Angeles County of Education is seeking an innovative adaptive experienced leader for the Administrative Services Officer role.
The Administrative Services Officer plans directs organizes coordinates and manages a wide variety of centralized office and administrative services units in support of the daily operations of the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Provisions of the Education Code Public Contract Government and Civil Codes of the State of California pertaining to administrative services areas
Principles and techniques of budget preparation and administration and related recordkeeping
New and developing technology applicable to areas of responsibility
Computer hardware and software related to database management and records management including Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
Competencies:
Critical Thinking Analytically and logically evaluating information propositions and claims
Decision Thinking Choosing optimal courses of action in a timely manner
Legal & Regulatory Navigation Understanding interpreting and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Professional & Technical Expertise Applying technical subject matter to the job
Innovation Imagining and devising new and better ways of doing things
Oral Communication Engaging effectively in dialogue
Customer Focus Attending to the needs and expectation of customers
Relationship Building Establishing rapport and maintaining mutually productive relationships

Business Process Analysis Defining assessing and improving operational processes and workflow
Managing Change Addressing key factors that influence successful organizational change
Project Management Planning and tracking projects to ensure they are on-time on-budget and achieve their objectives
Cultural Proficiency Modeling communications and interactions that respect and include all individuals and their languages abilities religions and cultures
Required Education and ExperienceEducation:A bachelors degree with major coursework in business administration public administration business management or a field closely related to the job requirements of the classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience:Five years of experience in public school business operations and/or administration including two years of supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements:A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a performance assessment and/or technical interview.
