(Senior) System Engineer- Kubernetes

Hybrid: From home and our office at Amsterdam Central Station

Total Salary: Between EUR 65000 and EUR 80000 (before taxes including allowances) plus excellent secondary benefits (see below)

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

We are a highly collaborative and international IT Engineering team seeking a new colleague to join us. You will be part of a unique not-for-profit organisation that has a significant impact on the core of the Internet. What You Will be Doing:

You will join our engineering team running IT services and platforms and in particular being involved in building and maintaining our next generation Kubernetes platform. Your job will include tasks like:

• Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters using GitOps principles

• Build deploy and migrate applications to Kubernetes

• Maintain and deploy Linux-based systems (Redhat-based) and applications

• Set up and maintain robust monitoring and centralised logging for all platform components and workloads

• After six months in the IT department you will participate in our 24/7 standby rotation - shifts are one week every 6-8 weeks depending on team size (compensated on top of your salary)

What Were Looking For:

• Masters degree or higher in Information Technology Computer science Software Engineering (or similar)

• Communication: Fluent written and spoken English

• Embracing change: Eagerness to keep learning and a willingness to adapt

• Team player: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

• Substantial experience as a system engineer and at least two (five for a senior engineer) years working as a Kubernetes engineer

• Experience building maintaining and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.

• Experience building maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers and services.

• Experience with Infrastructure As Code (Terraform Saltstack etc.)

The IT Engineering Team

We are an international team of 10 highly motivated engineers who love our craft. We are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure for most of the RIPE NCCs services. We work in an Agile environment and rely on good communication and collaboration within our team and organisation.
