Job Summary

Assistant Manager(Communications) (at the rank of Executive Officer)(Ref.: 533366) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Qualifications

  • A good Bachelors degree preferably in Communications Public Relations Marketing or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 4-5 years of solid working experience in communications and/or media relations preferably in higher education or corporate environment. Agency experience is also welcomed.
  • Exceptional command of both spoken and written English and Chinese with demonstrated skill in writing for the media (press releases pitches) and translating complex subjects into clear compelling stories.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to identify news angles and execute PR plans that deliver high-quality media placements.
  • Established media contacts particularly in education policy or news sectors would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience in planning and promoting academic or corporate events.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership able to work independently to drive projects forward while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Familiarity with digital PR tools including media monitoring and contact databases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a PR strategy to secure positive media coverage for the facultys key initiatives.
  • Work closely with the team to translate complex topics into compelling press releases media pitches and feature stories.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to promote major Faculty events and conferences to maximise attendance and media coverage. Manage on-site media logistics for key events.
  • Write and edit a variety of content including press releases media advisories key messages Q&As and articles for the faculty website.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of the basic salary.
