About the Role
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides safe high-quality patient-centred nursing care within the endoscopy unit in line with organisational policies procedures and relevant clinical standards. The role involves the delivery of pre-procedural intra-procedural and post-procedural care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse contributes to a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment ensuring best practice outcomes for patients.
Requirements of the Role
Essential:
- At least 12 months experience as RN in Endoscope suite as per perioperative standards
- Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated clinical skills in endoscopy perioperative or acute care nursing.
- Ability to take initiative is self-motivated and can work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Experience with airway management and patient monitoring under sedation.
- Understanding of infection control principles and AS/NZS 5369.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality integrity respect for others and a dedication to professional standards.
Proficient in:
- Problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Organisational skills.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Recognises that additional duties and responsibilities may be required occasionally beyond those outlined in this document.
You will be required to have or able to obtain:
- Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
- Identification check validation.
- Police check clearance.
Desirable:
- GENCA or ACORN membership.
- Experience in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices
- Post-graduate qualification in Perioperative or Endoscopy Nursing.
