TheCooindaMental Health inpatient unit isa state-of-the-art33-bed acute unit for those aged 18 and over. With private well-equipped rooms patients have use of the dining room laundry lounge areas visitors lounge outdoor areas music room art and craft room therapyroomsand gymnasium. Our service provides assessment and evidence-based treatment for patients experiencing mood disorders anxiety disorders post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)/trauma eating disorders psychotic disorders addictions complex needs due to a mental illness as well as young adult and older persons mental health needs.
Your part in ourBuderim Hospital team
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services you will oversee the operational leadership and development of ourCooindaMental Health Unit applying your operational knowledge leadershipcapabilityand communication skills to effectively lead your team to successacross ourstate-of-the-artcomplex.
Youllcollaborate effectively with other healthcare leader in the hospital including Nurse Management working together to deliveroptimalpatient-outcomes through advancing the delivery of exceptional clinical care.A diverse role you will:

Lead your people through identifying opportunities for development learning and improvement.
Build a cooperative working environment between members of a multi-disciplinary team applying your skills to build a high functioning and outcome focused unit
Maintain professional standards of practice through the evaluation of services and through key strategies
Ensureoptimalprocurement and allocation of resources including recruitment and budgeting to achieveoptimalservice objectives

Ongoing commitment to self-evaluation and professional development
Post-registration qualifications relevant to the area of nursing practice and/or people management/leadership qualifications are highly desirable.
Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements as well asundergo nationalcriminal historycheck and functional assessment
