Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist
Reports to: Director of IT
Employment Status: Full Time Exempt
Position Summary:
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems hardware and software. This role involves responding to user inquiries diagnosing and resolving technical issues and ensuring the smooth operation of desktop environments across the organization.
The specialist works closely with the Director of IT Operations and end-users to maintain system functionality install and configure hardware and software and troubleshoot problems in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is customer-focused detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple support requests efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for desktop laptop and peripheral issues.
- Install configure and maintain hardware and software systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to operating systems applications and network connectivity.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes including device setup and account provisioning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and resolutions.
- Collaborate with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
Qualifications
- 13 years of experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk roles.
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS environments.
- Familiarity with Active Directory Office 365 and remote support tools.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
