The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking an intermediate-level Corporate Paralegal to join their Corporate Services team in Vancouver. This role offers the chance to work on sophisticated corporate matters within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare documents for incorporations and corporate organizations under the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia) and Canada Business Corporations Act
- Draft and revise special rights and restrictions articles and various corporate documents
- Manage files relating to incorporations amendments amalgamations continuations dissolutions restorations and share transactions
- Prepare and file documentation for societies under the Societies Act (British Columbia) and federal not-for-profit corporations
- Conduct minute book reviews and prepare rectification documentation as needed
- Handle annual maintenance and transparency register filings for BC federal and extra-provincial entities
- Complete filings and registrations with corporate registries (B.C. Registry Corporations Canada etc.)
- Communicate directly with clients under lawyer supervision and independently manage assigned files
- Mentor and train junior corporate services team members
Qualifications:
- Minimum 35 years of experience as a corporate paralegal in a law firm or equivalent setting
- Experience with ALF database and BC Online filing procedures
- Post-secondary education in legal administration or a related field
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication organization and multitasking skills
- Exceptional attention to detail grammar and proofreading
- Professional service-oriented and adaptable work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Comfortable working independently or collaboratively within a team
