Shift: 12-hr Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Type: Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor & Delivery unit. As an RN you will play a vital role in providing compassionate high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns. You will be responsible for patient assessments planning and implementing care strategies and evaluating outcomes in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive assessments of maternal and fetal health.
Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
Monitor patients throughout labor and delivery recognizing and responding to any complications.
Communicate effectively with patients and families to provide education and emotional support.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
Delegate tasks appropriately to team members and provide supervision as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
Uphold safety effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of patient care delivery.
Contribute to a positive team environment mentoring peers and supporting unit goals.

Key Success Factors:

Strong knowledge of nursing practice standards care procedures and patient safety.
Understanding of applicable nursing laws regulations and hospital protocols.
Familiarity with labor and delivery practices fetal monitoring and postpartum care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse patient populations and team members.
Ability to think critically solve problems and remain calm under pressure.
Commitment to ethical nursing practice and patient confidentiality.
Competency with basic computer systems including EMR Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates or Bachelors in Nursing).
Active RN license in the State of Texas.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent full-time experience in Labor & Delivery. Mother/Baby experience is a plus.
